the raven

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
`'Tis some visitor,' I muttered, `tapping at my chamber door -
Only this, and nothing more.'

Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December,
And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.
Eagerly I wished the morrow; - vainly I had sought to borrow
From my books surcease of sorrow - sorrow for the lost Lenore -
For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels named Lenore -
Nameless here for evermore.

And the silken sad uncertain rustling of each purple curtain
Thrilled me - filled me with fantastic terrors never felt before;
So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stood repeating
`'Tis some visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door -
Some late visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door; -
This it is, and nothing more,'

i've always loved poetry, and while i do write my own, i have NEVER shown it to anyone haha so maybe someday i will be brave enough to do so. but until then, some Edgar Allen Poe should satiate my poetry craving.

**and if you like poetry, Bev from i carry your heart  writes beautifully! she hasn't written anything lately, but when i found her blog, i went all the way to the beginning and read everything.

also, if anyone knows how to use this html editor thing... i'd appreciate any tips i could get, because it doesn't seem to post things the way i type them. soo irritating. :P

roadtrip pt. 1

My friends and i headed down to Ottawa for Canada Day weekend! Our very first roadtrip and weekend away from home, together.

we headed down thursday morning, and got there by like 330pm.

immediately started preparing for the canada day festivities, because apparently, torontonians dont know how to celebrate their country. ottawa-tonians (no idea what they're actually called hahah but thats my made-up name for them), on the other hand, are crazy! the streets and the Rideau centre were packed full of people in red and white, drinking, singing oh canada and celebrating. i've decided i'm spending every canada day in ottawa, from now on.

Since my camera still has not been fixed, i bought 2 disposable cameras for the occasion. I think I have been converted. haha i LOVE how the pictures turned out! these are just a few of the pictures from thursday and part of friday!
hahahahahah this guy was so into it. VERY patriotic.
i don't really know where my friends' clothes are from but on me;
denim jacket- black market
red tshirt- zara men's
silver leaf ring- forever21
rainbow sunglasses- black market
white shorts (not pictured)- American Eagle

hat- forever21
grey crop top- American Apparel raglan/diy
denim high waisted shorts (which you cant really see)- value village
sandals- H&M
watch- dads
sunglasses- rayban

Two of my friends were also taking pictures, so there are WAY more photos to come!

This summer has been crazy. I feel like i'm never home! Tonight will be my first night in what feels like a LONG time, that i'm staying home. maybe i'll watch a movie or sew, or bake or something... the possibilities are endless.....

CanadaDay!

Happy Canada Day to any Canadians out there!
I have no idea why i'm up awake right now. i have to be up at 8am because my friends and i are taking a roadtrip down to our country's capital to celebrate the birth of Canada!

Wrote the final exam for summer school class numero uno, last wednesday. celebrated by going out weds. thurs. fri. and sat. apparently i've turned into a "party girl" this summer.
reality: i have no job and no friends (because they all HAVE jobs). so what else is a girl to do with her time but drink and party, really....
(from last, last thursday when we planned on going to bar244, ended up at london taphouse, then decided the fox and the fiddle would be more fun... eventful night.... My floral jumpsuit is from Forever21, watch was my dad's)

weds. was actually the most fun i've had in awhile! there's this "event"(?) every wednesday night at this club (?) called the Basement. A place so small that everyone is forced to rub up against each other, dripping in sweat, and stepping on toes. sounds pretty gross but its lotsa fun!

On the walk home (we're poor, so we can't afford to take cabs hahah), we saw a bunch of guys climbing a fence to get into the public pool. In our states of mind, we thought it would be a good idea to join. at the time, it might have been, but we woke up with cuts and bruises in VERY uncomfortable places.
clearly very excited to finally have finished having to study... haha

(i swear i wasn't making any asian jokes here. i honestly have no clue what i was doing lmao...)
-Black AA U-neck dress
-Striped Tshirt from H&M
-Payless Oxford ankle boots (not pictured)

Thursday wasn't quite as fun... we just walked around toronto... allllll night.....
(i clearly take amaazing outfit shots, right? i'll work on those...)
Tank- H&M
Skirt- H&M
Shoes- Converse

my beautiful roomies <33

friday, we went to see down with webster! i met the most attractive 16 year old. lmao....  he was perfect. luckily, there is nothing illegal about staring. i didn't get any pictures of that. all i have are pictures from earlier that day when we went to the bar to watch the spain-chile game!!! i think i'm the only person who doesn't get into games. don't get me wrong, i love watching them! i'm just such a calm, emotionless person (ha) that when they scored... i was the only person NOT screaming and jumping on my chair.
SORRY for the overload of writing/photos! It has been an eventful week! i only have phone pictures from saturday (my best friends birthday), so they aren't really worth showing.
i should be sleeping now, seeing as my wakeup call is in less than 6.5 hours.
there will most DEFINITELY be pictures from this weekend. i got my brother to go out and pick me up a disposable camera (since mine is STILL broken, and im too poor to buy a new one... lmao)
good night
xoxo

health.

summer always makes me crave salads, fruits, water and healthy things like that...
lately, i've been trying to workout and be healthier because it really does make me feel SO much better. i've actually never really done yoga before, so im going to try that tomorrow, at my gym!

so, to switch things up a bit, i've decided to show you guys some healthy-living inspiration...

if anyone knows of any healthy meals, they are more than welcome to share them! i don't know many... haha

blast from the past

Just a few of my favorite pictures/outfit shots from the last year/two years.
my camera somehow stopped working again... just my luck... i think it's from all the sand that got in it at wasaga... and i have yet to meet someone who knows how to fix a camera (apparently the guys in Henry's don't know how...?)

so i've just been reminiscing of the past, going through my old albums...

blame it on the sprite.

Went out thursday and friday night. Unfortunately, once again, my camera is broken. I took it to wasaga, sand attacked us, and apparently found the time to ruin my camera, as well. I took these shots of my thursday night outfit, before the cam broke.

My very first tie dye experience:
We went to dance cave; anyone who has been there knows how dirty but FUN it is. i love it. and it was so empty, but we learned that as long as youre with some crazy fun people, and have some motley crue, abba, and a congo line, it doesn't really matter who else is there. haha
Tshirt- H&M/tie dyed by me
Lace tank- vintage
Shoes- payless

Friday, we went to this club/lounge called Shallow Groove, because my friend was dj'ing there. It was a really fun night! And my friend was surprisingly good... haha They had free vodka drinks from 11-1115 and 1-115, which also helped make it fun... we saw some guy get escorted out in what looked like a painful headlock. then we finished off the night with some chinese food. mmmm

Dress- Forever21
 Belt- vintage/borrowed from my friend
Shoes- same as with tie dye outfit
Watch- stolen from my dad
Bag (although you can't see it)- from Argentina

I always hate coming back to stouffville after the weekend in toronto. There's always something to do downtown, especially since my friends live so close to the city, whereas I'm so far, in stouffville...

On another note, my friend is in a makeup program at school and she's doing an airbrushing assignment this weekend with me! I'm pretty excited and hopefully she'll send me some of the pictures once she's done so I can post a couple!

now i am going to warm up some hot and sour soup :)

the little land

When at home alone I sit
And am very tired of it,

I have just to shut my eyes
To go sailing through the skies--

To go sailing far away
To the pleasant Land of Play;
To the fairy land afar

Where the Little People are;
Where the clover-tops are trees,
And the rain-pools are the seas,
And the leaves, like little ships,
Sail about on tiny trips;
And above the Daisy tree
Through the grasses,
High o'erhead the Bumble Bee
Hums and passes

In that forest to and fro
I can wander, I can go;
See the spider and the fly,
And the ants go marching by,
Carrying parcels with their feet
Down the green and grassy street.
I can in the sorrel sit
Where the ladybird alit.
I can climb the jointed grass
And on high
See the greater swallows pass
In the sky,
And the round sun rolling by

Heeding no such things as I.

Through that forest I can pass
Till, as in a looking-glass,
Humming fly and daisy tree
And my tiny self I see,
Painted very clear and neat
On the rain-pool at my feet.
Should a leaflet come to land

Drifting near to where I stand,
Straight I'll board that tiny boat
Round the rain-pool sea to float

Little thoughtful creatures sit
On the grassy coasts of it;
Little things with lovely eyes
See me sailing with surprise.
Some are clad in armour green--
(These have sure to battle been!)--
Some are pied with ev'ry hue,
Black and crimson, gold and blue;
Some have wings and swift are gone;--
But they all look kindly on.

When my eyes I once again
Open, and see all things plain:
High bare walls, great bare floor;
Great big knobs on drawer and door;
Great big people perched on chairs,
Stitching tucks and mending tears,
Each a hill that I could climb,
And talking nonsense all the time--
O dear me,
That I could be
A sailor on a the rain-pool sea
A climber in the clover tree
And just come back a sleepy-head,
Late at night
to go to bed

my favorite poem ever by my favorite poet ever: Robert Louis Stevenson
I dont quite remember where i got the pictures from!
but i know fuckyeahskinnybitch.tumblr was one of them!

rebirth.

ohh summer. how i missed thee.

i pretty much went through a midlife crisis (because the life of a 20 year old can be OH SO stressful, obviously), and deleted every single blog post i had written. i didn't have the heart to delete my blog, though. Which is probably a good thing since i missed this blog so much. so here i am!

new year, new blog, new me.
kind of.

i'm trying to make this summer the best/busiest/most exciting summer of my life! because, well, after like 3rd year of university, you don't really get much of a summer anymore.

So, here are just a few random shots from my summer so far :)
